Draining Old Engine Oil & Filters

After car inspection on the lift, the old engine oil was taken out. As engine oil becomes older, it loses its thickness (viscosity) and is unable to provide adequate lubrication to the engine. This requires engine oil to be changed regularly.

Pitcrew Car Service Tip:

Get your engine oil replaced every 7 to 10K kms.

  • For Normal Engine Oil, oil change is advised in 6-8 months or 7 to 9K kms
  • In case of Fully Synthetic Engine Oil, oil change is advised in 9 – 12 months or 10 to 12k kms

Pitcrew provides great offers on Synthetic Oil services – Upto70% off. Visit Pitcrew for more details

Pitcrew Car Service Tip:

Whenever engine oil is replaced, it is also required to replace the Oil Filter. Oil filter helps remove any oil impurities and ensures that engine received good quality oil only. As engine runs, over time the oil filter accumulates lots of impurities which obstructs in oil flow. Regular Engine Oil and Oil Filter replacement ensures long vehicle life.

Any engine requires clean oxygen for combustion within the engine. Combustion is made possible through good fuel, clean oxygen and spark flames. Air filter plays the role of cleaning air and removing impurities from the air which is sent to the engine. Old Air filters are unable to ensure regular oxygen supply which limits successful combustion of fuel. This can result in reduced vehicle mileage.

Pitcrew Car Service Tip:

Remember to get your Air filter replaced during a regular service. Some car mechanics advise to continue with old air filter and propose only engine oil and oil filter replacement, but for good vehicle performance and good mileage it is advisable to get air filter replaced during service.

On inspection of car brakes, Pitcrew identified that both the front and rear brake pads were worn out and needed replacement. The same was highlighted in the front cluster service lights as well.

Pitcrew Car Service Tip:

When the brake pad leather wears out, it results in direct metal to metal contact between Brake Pad and Brake Disc. As a fact brake pads are a fraction of cost of a brake disc. It is advisable to get brake pads replaced on time (preferably 25 – 30k kms or 2 years). If the brake discs are worn out due to contact between brake pad metal and disc, then the brake overhaul charges may be massive.
